WORKGROUP COACHES COURSE TRAINER A - CHEERLEADING

Objective of the Working Group

This working group explores which themes, competencies, and requirements are essential for a forward-looking Trainer A education program in cheerleading.
The goal is not to fully design the course right away, but to create a content framework and advisory plan that can serve as a foundation for future development.

Focus Areas

  • Provide advice on the core pillars of a Trainer A education
  • Determine the knowledge, skills, and attitudes a Trainer A should possess
  • Identify in-depth topics not covered in Trainer C/B that are essential for high-level coaching
  • Estimate the duration, structure, evaluation methods, and requirements
  • Develop proposals for practice-based and scientific modules
  • Suggest potential partner organizations

Example Topics the Working Group Will Address

  • Anatomy & injury prevention, sports physiology, strength training
  • Long-term athlete development in cheerleading
  • Mental support and performance psychology
  • High-level technical coaching and error analysis
  • Advanced team planning, periodization & load management
  • Behavior, leadership, and team culture
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with physiotherapists, osteopaths, psychologists

Who Are We Looking For?

Profiles welcome in this working group:

  • Coaches with experience at a high competitive level (Trainer B or equivalent)
  • Physiotherapists, osteopaths, or other medically trained professionals
  • Experts with a background in pedagogy, elite sports, sports psychology, or training science
  • Individuals with a clear vision on high-performance sports in cheerleading

Operation

  • Kick-off meeting: September 2025
  • 3 to 4 meetings (hybrid or online)

Goal

  • Delivery of an advisory note or structural proposal by January 2026
