This non-profit organization aims to map cheerleading and promote the organization and development of cheerleading in Belgium.
OBJECTIVES
- Promote cheerleading in Belgium
- Organizing a yearly Belgian championship
- Organizing workshops in dance and stunts
- To organize qualitative trainings for coaches
- To try to reach a higher level and to professionalize
- Strengthen international contacts and exchange with both European and international organizations.
- Organizing a Team Belgium for participation to the World Championships
- Official member of ECU since 2013
- Official member of ICU since 2014
B.C.F. can be considered as a national communication platform, specialized in cheerleading. B.C.F is a member of the European Cheer Union (E.C.U) and of the International Cheer Union (I.C.U).
Overview of past years
2012
- First Belgian championship in a new composition of the BCF in Leuven.
- BCF is transferred from Bert De Wit to Sarah Coene, Julie Baillieu and Carlo Drappier (already members of the first BCF).
- First participation of a Belgian cheerleading team at the European Championships in Amsterdam (ECU).
2013
- BCF is an official non-profit association.
- Second Belgian championship at Rotselaar.
- BCF adopts the official rulebook of the ECU for the Belgian championship.
- First coaches training level 1 organized by the BCF.
- First workshops given by national and international coaches.
- Official accession to the European Cheer Union, ECU.
- Participation in jury training (ICU).
2014
- Third Belgian championship at Rotselaar.
- Second coaches training level 1 organized by the BCF.
- Workshops and camps organized by the BCF and performed by national and international coaches.
- First coaches training level 2 is organized.
- Official affiliation to the International Cheer Union, ICU.
- Participation in the European Championships in Bonn by several Belgian teams in different categories.
2015
- Fourth Belgian championship at Mechelen.
- First participation of a Belgian team in the World Championships in two categories. (Hip hop and Senior Co-ed level 5)
- Participation in the European Championship in Ljubljana by several Belgian teams in different categories.
- Organization of the first UCA Benelux camp in Belgium.
2016
- Fifth Belgian Championship in Mechelen.
- Participation in the European Championship in Vienna by several Belgian teams in different categories.
- Organization of the second UCA Benelux camp in Belgium.
- First coaches training dance.
2017
- Sixth Belgian championship in Mechelen.
- Participation in the European Championship in Prague by several Belgian teams in different categories.
- Second participation of a Belgian team in the World Championships.
- Organization of the third UCA Benelux camp in Belgium.
- Coaches training level 1 and 2.
2018
- Seventh Belgian championship in Mechelen.
- Participation in the European Championships in Helsinki by several Belgian teams in different categories.
- Julie Baillieu becomes Board Member (Regional Representative Western Europe) at the ECU.
- Organization of the fourth UCA Benelux camp in Belgium.
- Coaches training level 1.
2019
- Eighth Belgian championship at Heist op den Berg.
- Participation in the European Championships in St. Petersburg by several Belgian teams in different categories.
- First participation with a Team Belgium (Senior Co-ed level 5) in the World Championships.
- Organization of the fifth UCA Benelux camp in Belgium
2020
- Due to the Covid pandemic all events were cancelled
2021
- Organization of the sixth UCA Benelux camp in Belgium
2022
- Participation in the European Championships in Athens by Dansshuis Boutersem
- Organization of two skill days for Level 3-4 athletes
- 2x Coaches course - Trainer C Cheerleading
- 1x Coaches course - Trainer B Cheerleading
- Ninth BK Cheer & Dance 2022 at Leuven
- Organization of the seventh UCA camp
- Workshop Performance Cheer Pom with international instructor
- Start up Team Belgium Cheer and Performance Cheer for participation in World Championships 2023
- Founding of the Vlaamse Cheerleading Federatie vzw
- Start up BCF coaches for workshops and private coachings
